Puppy
Cookies
These tasty little puppies are
easy to make and are not super sweet, but mom
will be happy because they are not overloaded
with sugar.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of Flour
2 1/2 cups of Quick Oats (grind in a blender till
it is a course flour)
1 1/2 cups of Sugar
*1/2 cup of ground Almonds (grind in the blender
until they are powdery)
2 sticks of softened Butter
2 teaspoons of Vanilla
1 Egg
1/2 teaspoon of Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon of Salt (or salt to taste)
Raisins and Dark Chocolate Chips
* Allergy Alert:
The Almonds are not necessary, but add a little
extra protein and a subtle taste to the cookies.
They also add a nice texture. If you do not like
nuts or are allergic to them, the Almonds can
be replaced with an extra 1/4 cup of flour, but
add slowly to the mixture because you want the
mixture to be like a clay.
Directions
Cream Butter, Egg and Vanilla until they are smooth.
Slowly add the mixture of ground
Oats, Flour and ground Almonds.
Add the pinch of Salt and Baking
Soda. Stir everything together until the dough
is dry and a little like clay.
You may need to add a little water
to the dough to help the texture of the dough
so that it is not too dry. If it is too dry, add
a tiny bit of water will help to soften it.
Download the Cookie template from
our Puppy PlayDate
Funpack and follow the shape
forms to make different kinds of shapes of dogs.
Shape the dough into Puppy heads
and add ears. To make the nose, add a bit of dough
to the lower part of the dogs head and then use
raisins (push them together tightly to form a
larger nose).
For the lower part of the mouth,
cut a raisin into a strip and add one piece from
the nose and one piece flat against the chin.
Add 2 chocolate chips or 2 raisins
for the eyes.
Bake at 325 degrees for approximately
12 to 15 minutes until the cookies are done. Baking
time depends on how thick the cookies are and
oven temperatures.
Bone appetit!
