Wooden Spoon Flowers

Wooden Spoon Flowers

There are so many fun things kids can do to explore their creativity and find joy in simple activities. Here is a variation on something that is fun and super easy to put together.

Materials:
Wooden Spoons
(new or used - it doesn't matter)
Paints & Brushes
Elmer's Glue
Small Paper Plates for Paint Palettes
Scissors (to be used with supervision)
Magazines with pictures of flowers
Old Cardboard or empty cereal boxes

Directions:
  1. Set up your work area with old newspapers and lay out the supplies.
  2. Give each child a spoon and plate to put their paints on.
  3. Let the kids look through the magazines to pick a flower to cut out or they can draw one.
  4. Glue the flower or drawing on to the cardboard and let it dry.
  5. The kids can now paint their spoon. While the paint is drying, get the kids outside for a walk or get them moving for exercise.
  6. When everything is dry, assemble the flower and glue to the spoon.
Fun Activity: make a flower arrangement out of multiple spoons.
