Thanksgiving Placecards

When Thanksgiving
week comes around and the kids are trying
to help with preparations, enjoy their special
brand of enthusiasm and include them in
the fun. While grown-ups are busy with cooking,
the kids can help to make these cute, simple
table cards. They are a helpful way to identify
different dishes and let your guests know
if there are any ingredients to avoid (like
nuts or dairy).
Materials:
Template
Art
Construction Paper
Glue and Scissors
Crayons and Markers
Old Greeting Cards (or Posterboard cut to
10" x 7" then folded in half)
Paper Clips
Sticks and Paints (optional)
Directions
Take the template and paper clip it to a
piece construction paper. Then cut around
it so you have a plain, single colored turkey.
You can also print the template onto a colored
piece of paper - and that looks great! Cover
the old greeting card or folded piece of
posterboard in a complimentary paper and
then glue the Turkey on the top. Now you
have a free-standing Turkey Talker to use
as a placecard.
Add any Recipe title** to the Turkey Talker
or an alert for any ingredient that people
might be sensitive to. This keeps the kids
busy and is a great way to add something
special and stylish to the Thanksgiving
table!
Tips
** You can also run a piece of 8 1/2"
x 11" paper through the printer if
you are short on time.
You can also
cut out "feather” strips of colored
paper to glue to the Turkey and/or color
them for a fun result.
