Recycled Robot Craft
Children love
to explore possibilities. Learning to make
Robots from empty soup mix, cereal or dry
good boxes is a way for young children to
become engaged in their own rich inner resources.
This is also a great way for kids to tap
into their imaginations and see beyond
the box.
Materials:
Empty small boxes (from gifts or food) and
cereal boxes
Paper tubes
Small plastic tops or bottle caps
Pie plates
Elmer’s glue
Aluminum foil
Scotch tape
Clear packing tape is also good to work
with.
Directions
Place a bunch of boxes on the table and
start to play with their shapes. Have the
children do different kinds of formations
and move the pieces around to form a body.
When they find a structure that fits together,
have them glue it together or use the clear
packing tape (which is really good to work
with because it holds everything firmly
in place). Finally, cover the pieces in
aluminum foil.
