Scarf Craft
Pashminas are
beautiful scarves to add a light cover of
warmth or a pretty accent to a simple dress
or outfit. Shawls are usually more casual
in style, but both Pashminas and Shawls
offer a very practical function for a stylish
wardrobe.
Here is a fun
activity to do with your friends while enjoying
the benefits of getting together –
sharing great conversations and developing
strong relationships.
Materials:
Solid colored Scarves or Shawls or Felt
Fabric (available in Fabric Stores) that
can be cut into long pieces for each Pashmina
(Approximate size: 54" long x 18"-24"
wide, depending on the bolt size)
For Decoration:
• Old Buttons, Beads and Pretty Ribbons
(you can also recycle the pieces from spare
earrings, bracelets or jewelry)
• Extra decorative swatches of Felt
from a Craft or Fabric Store (most stores
usually have a good supply of pre-cut pieces
in 12" x 12" squares that are
available in a bright spectrum of colors)
• Sewing needles
• Scissors
• Elmer’s Glue
Directions:
Arrange a place to put out all of the colorful
felt, beads, ribbons and assorted treasures
for decorating on the Pashminas. Cut the
decorative colorful felt swatches into daisy
flower shapes and make vines. Glue together
with Elmer’s and let dry. Then tack
the finished flower vines on to the Pashmina.
You can also just make shapes and glue them
onto the finished Pashmina and go wild with
colors. It is easy to create fun fringe just
by cutting the edges of the felt into strips.
Sew on pretty ribbons and beads. Have fun
with the craft and your friends!
