| Fun
with Magnets
Do you have a special
memory?
Maybe it was a ticket to a special place,
arcade coupons,
a photo on a postcard, an airline luggage
tag or a small seashell.
Here is a way to keep the wonderful memory
fresh.
Materials:
The Special Item (see below)
Glue and possibly Clear Tape
Scissors (only to be used with the supervision
of a grown-up)
Magnet Tape
Cardboard
Optional: clothespins and clay
If you are using
a paper item such as a ticket or tag, photo
or postcard,
glue it to cardboard and then cut out the
final shape. When it is dry, take the item
and attach the magnet to the back.
For items like
a shell or stone, just add the magnet to
the back.
You can use the magnets to decorate a locker
or for special notes on your fridge.
As an alternate
idea, you can make Clothespin Clips following
the same directions as above, but just substituting
the magnet for a clothespin (however, you
can still add a magnet to the back). Use
the decorated clothes pin to hold papers
together on your desk.
Be creative!
You can use your favorite air-dry clay to
make a fun shape. Then either paint the
dried clay or color with markers. Finally,
add a magnet, or glue to a clothes pin.
