Handmade
Gift Bags or Boxes
Is
it Homemade or Handmade?
How about both!

When it comes
to homemade gifts like baking cookies and
making crafts for grandparents, teachers,
special friends and neighbors, here is a
craft that’s perfect for keeping little
fingers busy! You can do this at the table
while making cookies to fill gift bags.
The paintbrush pens from Elmers are easy
to use, don’t make any mess and they
make cleanup a snap.
The personal
style and original art that each child creates
will enlighten and entertain them as you
savor the special time together. And how
about trying a Thumbprint Cookie recipe
while you are at it? It would go hand-in-hand
with the craft!
Materials:
Colored Gift Bags or Plain Brown Lunch Bags
Colored Paper
Scissors
(with adult supervision)
Elmer’s Glue
Elmer’s Paintastics Paint Brush Pens
(or regular paint brushes)
Pencil
Optional:
Buttons
Fake Jewels
Elmer’s Glitter Pens
Handwritten Notes and Poems
Directions:
Have each child draw an outline of his or
her hand on a colored or plain piece of
paper. Then have them use the Paintastic
Paint Brush Pens to color in their own hand
drawing. When the picture is done, carefully
cut out their masterpiece and glue it to
another piece of paper and then glue it
to the bag. The kids can also use Elmer’s
glue to add buttons, glitter or other decorative
items to the hands. What a great way to
show the personal style and special handmade
touch of your family’s gift.
PS - For
those of you who have family members in
the Service, this extra
touch is especially meaningful!
