Gift Boxes from Recycled Objects
During
the year, and especially during the holidays,
little gifts and packages seem to find their
way into our lives. Be sure to save the
boxes, wrappings, ribbons or pretty pieces
of the packages and put them in a box (that
can be recycled too) for a rainy day playdate.
These items now become wonderful craft materials.
Here is a beautiful
way to take an empty box and transform it
into something with personal meaning while
adding a special touch of love. You can
fill it with a poem or story, jewelry, little
treasures, or even gift cards or money.
This is an opportunity
to spend time with your child while teaching
them to reuse valuable resources. Just set
out all the supplies and let them have fun
decorating the boxes.
Materials:
Empty containers or boxes (even tissue boxes
are fun)
Old pieces of wrapping paper, aluminum foil
and colored paper scraps
Elmer’s Glue
Tape and Scissors (to be used with adult
supervision)
Pens, Crayons and Markers
