Crowns

Materials
needed:
Flexible Measuring Tape or String
Pencil
Posterboard
Scissors (only to be used with adult supervision)
Glue and Tape (stapler optional - with adult
supervision)
Colored Paper
(any kind of paper will do. You can even
use aluminum foil, old wrapping paper, newspaper,
old postcards... anything you have... and
remember... we also want to teach our children
to be resourceful!)
You Could Also Use:
Old Ribbons, Glitter, Macaroni, Dry Cleaner
Cardboard,
whatever you have will be fine!
Directions:
For a perfect fit, measure your child's
head with the tape or string. Make the width
of the hat one or two inches wider for overlap
and mark that on the posterboard. Draw a
horizontal zigzag pattern about 10 inches
to 12 inches away from the bottom of the
posterboard - this will be the spikes of
the crown. Cut out crown and use your imagination
to decorate. When finished, overlap the
edges to create the hatband and either staple,
glue or tape. Have fun!!
