Halloween Costume Headdresses
We
live in a small town with a very charming
Halloween Parade. Every year children work
hard to make their own prize-winning entry.
The kids do an amazing amount of work on
their costumes to win them, even though
the prizes are just tiny 2” trophies.
However, in my opinion, these costumes are
all winners!
One year,
a local group of Scouts, with little more
than $2.00 per child to spend on making
a costume, asked for some ideas to secure
one of those cute little trophies from the
Judges.
Here is
one idea that came from a designer and was
simply made from 2 pieces of poster board,
construction paper, Elmer’s glue and
trash bags. The poster board headpieces
added an extra 23" of height to each
child and created an illusion that the kids
were extremely tall. All heads turned when
they came marching down the street.
One note
of warning though - this kind of costume
is great for competitions, but not on days
where the wind is blowing.
